1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms of Service apply to all lessons and services offered by Irniger Bluebird Snowsports (sole proprietorship of Basil Irniger), based in Lucerne, Switzerland, through our website and direct bookings.
By booking with us, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian, and that you agree to these terms.
All times mentioned are Swiss local time (CET/CEST).
2. Bookings and payment
Bookings are usually made online through our booking system or by email/message.
A booking is only confirmed once we have received payment (unless agreed otherwise) and you have received a confirmation email.
You are responsible for checking that all details in the confirmation are correct, including dates, times, meeting point, number of participants, and level.
Payments are processed by our payment provider and, where applicable, by your bank or card issuer. We do not store full card details on our own systems.
3. Prices
All prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF).
Prices apply per lesson, person, or private group, as shown in the booking system or offer.
Any discounts or promotions are shown during booking.
We may change prices for future bookings, but confirmed bookings are not affected.
4. Cancellations and changes
By you
Unless stated differently in your offer or confirmation, the following applies:
Cancellations received via the customer account / cancellation link in your confirmation email, or by message (email, WhatsApp, SMS) until 17:00 on the day before the start of the lesson or service are refunded in full.
Cancellations received after 17:00 on the day before, as well as no-shows or late arrivals that significantly shorten the lesson, are non-refundable.
If you do not arrive and we do not receive any message or call from you within the first hour after the scheduled start time, the booking will be treated as a no-show and the lesson will be considered cancelled. In this case, there is no right to a refund.
We always recommend cancelling as early as possible so that the time can be offered to other guests.
We try to accommodate changes such as date, time, or number of participants, but this depends on availability. If no suitable alternative is possible, the original cancellation rules apply.
Late arrival is ok, but you have no right to extend the lesson beyond the booked end time. Any extension is voluntary and depends on availability.
By us
If we have to cancel, for example due to illness of the instructor, serious operational issues, official measures, or conditions that we consider unsafe, we will:
- offer an alternative date, time, or instructor, or
- refund the amount you have paid for the affected service if no alternative works.
We are not responsible for other costs such as travel, accommodation, lift passes, train tickets, rentals, or insurance.
5. Lessons, lift passes, train tickets, equipment, and third-party services
Unless clearly stated otherwise, our prices do not include:
- lift passes / ski passes
- train tickets and other transport
- rental equipment
- insurance
- meals and drinks
You are responsible for having:
- a valid lift pass and, where required, valid train tickets for the area and period of your lesson,
- suitable and safe equipment, or rental equipment,
- appropriate clothing for the mountain and the weather.
If a package includes a lift pass, train ticket, rental equipment, taxi transfer, or any other third-party service, the conditions of the lift company, transport provider, taxi provider, or rental shop also apply.
We do not refund or compensate lift passes, train tickets, rental costs, taxis, or other third-party services, even if your lesson is changed, shortened, or cancelled, whether by you or by us.
If we help you obtain lift passes, train tickets, or other third-party services, you authorise us to purchase them on your behalf using the personal details you provide. We purchase in your name where possible. If a provider cannot issue tickets in your name, we may still purchase them on your behalf. We do not act as the seller of record for third-party tickets/services and cannot guarantee refunds from providers. Any refund, exchange, or claim for third-party tickets/services is your responsibility and must be handled directly with the provider. Once purchased, these third-party costs are non-refundable by us.
6. Risks, liability and insurance
Skiing and snowboarding involve inherent risks, including falls, collisions, changing snow and weather conditions, and other hazards.
By taking part in our lessons, you:
- accept these risks,
- confirm that you are physically and mentally able to participate,
- agree to follow the instructions of your instructor and the FIS rules.
To the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law:
- Irniger Bluebird Snowsports and its instructors are not liable for accidents, injuries, damage, or loss of property that occur during or in connection with lessons, unless caused by gross negligence or intent.
- You are responsible for having suitable accident, health, and travel insurance that covers winter sports and rescue costs.
Parents or legal guardians remain responsible for their children outside the actual lesson time and must ensure that children follow the instructions of the instructor. A parent/legal guardian must be reachable by phone during the lesson.
7. Behaviour and safety
We reserve the right to exclude participants from a lesson if they:
- do not follow safety instructions,
- are clearly under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or
- behave in a way that is dangerous or seriously disruptive.
In such cases there is no right to a refund.
8. Weather, lift operations, and resort closure
Lessons generally take place in a wide range of weather conditions.
As long as the resort is operating lifts (even partially), lessons are generally considered able to take place.
If the resort/area is fully closed, or conditions are deemed unsafe, we may cancel or adapt the plan. In the event of a cancellation by us, the rules in section 4 (“By us”) apply.
9. Photos and video
We may take photos/videos only if you request it during the lesson.
We will not use guest photos/videos for marketing without clear prior consent.
10. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with applicable Swiss data protection law and, where relevant, EU data protection law.
Further information on how we process personal data can be found in our Privacy Policy on this website.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by Swiss law.
The place of jurisdiction is the competent court at the registered seat of Irniger Bluebird Snowsports, unless mandatory law specifies otherwise.
